If you are not a native English speaker or English is not your first language, you will want to make use of every available resource to earn a very high test score. Other students, however, know they do not perform at their best when attempting to master challenging information in a group setting. They may worry about slowing the group down because they need to work at a slower pace. Alternatively, these students may feel bored or frustrated once they have mastered a subject but must wait for the rest of the group to demonstrate similar mastery before moving on. If you know you learn best through one-on-one instruction where you set the pace, we invite you consider working with one of the experienced private tutors at Manhattan Review.

Meet an Oslo TOEFL Tutor: Navya P.
Navya P. was born in Chennai and lived in India for the first fourteen years of her life until her family relocated to the United States. Navya knew firsthand how important a thorough understanding of written and spoken English could be, and she hoped to one day help others become fluent in this notoriously difficult language. Navya worked very hard in high school and obtained an impressive ACT score, and she chose to attend Stanford University, where she majored in English and worked part-time as a tutor. After graduating, Navya earned a master's degree in education, as well as a TESOL certificate, from the University of California at Berkeley. She then happily accepted a position with a non-profit organization focused on improving students' knowledge of English around the world.
Navya taught English in different countries for more than ten years, including the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, and South Korea before getting married and settling in her husband's hometown of Oslo. When she discovered Manhattan Review had a local office in the city, she applied for a rare tutoring position and was quickly welcomed to the team. Her students appreciate her easy-to-understand explanations and helpful comprehension tips, as well as her patient demeanor. When Navya isn't setting the next generation of college students up for their own successes, she can be found kayaking and going to music festivals with her husband.
